The Hampton by Hilton Bar Harbor is seeking an engaging, friendly and detail oriented Facilities Maintenance leader. This individual will be directly responsible for the oversight and upkeep of all hotel facilities and employee housing properties. 

A Hilton Lighthouse Award winning property, we are the only seasonal Hampton hotel in the Hilton brand portfolio, open to guests each year from May through November. The Hampton Bar Harbor is a hotel with panoramic ocean and mountain views overlooking Acadia National Park and the Atlantic Ocean.


The facilities department and engineering team are responsible for all building maintenance and upkeep while supporting hotel management in providing outstanding guest service and operational efficiency across all departments. Some projects are small, some projects are large, but it’s all in the details. Your day will include a variety of tasks, directed both by maintenance requests and ongoing projects – time management, prioritization, and seeing projects through to completion will all be key to success.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Foster a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management team

• Duties may include basic repair work, commercial pool operations, preventative maintenance, landscaping grounds upkeep, painting projects, minor repairs, etc.

• Point of contact and oversight of all outsourced work with third-party service providers including landscaping, lawn care, pest control, snow removal, plumbing and electrical contractors, etc.

• Supervisory responsibilities may include training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems

• Problem Solving – If you see something, say something! Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner – make timely decisions while exhibiting sound judgement. Include appropriate management team members in the decision making process as needed.

• Project Management – Tracking and communication for ongoing projects. Assist management team / ownership in planning for capital projects, provide supervision as needed representing the company with vendors and contractors.

• Ensure routine preventative and servicing maintenance on laundry equipment, heating and air conditioning systems, ice machines, fire extinguishers, fire and smoke alarm systems, landscape irrigation equipment, fitness equipment, elevators and plumbing systems are performed in accordance with company and brand standards.

• Pool Safety and Security – Maintain and document proper chemical levels in pool and spa areas in accordance with local health codes. Proactively ensure a safe environment for guests to enjoy.

• Quality Management – Understand and comply with all franchise brand requirements. Work to ensure all Brand Quality Assurance inspections are successful – our expectation is to exceed all requirements and be an exemplary franchise partner.

• Adaptability – Thrive dealing with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, changing your approach or method to best fit the situation. Change is the only constant, and the day undoubtedly may end differently than expected – your ability to pivot and prioritize will be key.

• Initiative – Meet challenges with resourcefulness, generate suggestions for improving workflow and take responsibility for your own actions. Delegate work assignments, set expectations and monitor delegated activities. Ask for and offer help when needed.


Qualifications

Vocational training is preferred but not required; at least three years of supervisory or lead skills in a similar position are preferred. Must have a valid drivers license.
